The Girl With The Red Lipstick

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.
Leo Buscaglia

Meet the girl with the red lipstick
She is quite a kick
She is only six years of age
And the sight of her fills me with rage
She is not the cause of my madness
And maybe it is a bit of sadness
You see this little girl
Who should twirl
And whirl about as little girls do
Has no clue
She may be sold
Or maybe has been told
Of girls like her
Who once were
The holders of red lipstick tubes
But are now abused
She may be safe and sound
But in other lives evil will abound
Lust will win
Money will turn into sin
Innocence will be lost
Lives will be tossed
This is the truth
And in broken places you can see the proof
But even though lipstick may fade
And those with lost innocence may feel as if their is no aid
Good will prevail
God’s love will set sail
Right for the darkest places
To the crying faces
My anger and sadness will turn into delight
As these little faces no longer feel fright
Meet the girl with the red lipstick
But look really close
You may see the very most
What was once broken is now whole
A child she can be again- reaching for every goal
And so as this story started with a tube of red
You can see that true change comes about when simple love is spread
